PLEASE NOTE - The R26 from Bethlehem to Fouriesburg and on to Ficksburg is terrible. 
The road is full of potholes and craters.
It is 25km longer if you travel from Bethlehem to Clarens and then to Fouriesburg, but the road is better and it is a lovely scenic route too.

From Johannesburg it is also bad between Frankfort and Bethlehem - craters and roadworks, so use either the N3 to Warden & then to Bethlehem – Clarens - Fouriesburg  Or Sasolburg – Heilbron – Petrus Styen – Bethlehem – Clarens - Fouriesburg (there is a detour of about 10km on a dust road)
